Spend a family day in Hamilton County: Holiday Edition

There is so much to do in Hamilton County during the holiday season (que: Keeping Up IN Carmel’s Holiday Hot List) that it can be hard to choose which activity to visit! If you are looking for a way to spend the day as a family exploring holiday attractions north of Indy, check out this sample itinerary with some out-of-the-box holiday experiences perfect for kids of all ages.

First Stop: Brunch at Rosie’s Place

Fuel up for the day with brunch at Rosie’s Place. With locations in Carmel, Noblesville, and Zionsville, pick a spot that works for you and take the whole family for a meal that will get you ready for a day of fun! Some of my family’s favorite menu items are the breakfast tacos, California egg sandwich and the giant cinnamon roll. Don’t forget to grab and ooey gooey butter cookie from the bake shop on your way out!

Next Stop: Paint a Christmas Ornament at UPaint Pottery

Head over to UPaint Pottery (13901 Town Center Blvd #200, Noblesville, IN) and let your kids pick out a Christmas ornament to paint in studio! Ornament prices are super reasonable ($10-20) which includes all the paint and firing process. Pick up your painted ornament a week later and hang your creation on your tree!

Third Stop: Skating at Federal Hill Commons

Head over to the ice rink at Federal Hill Commons in Noblesville (175 Logan St, Noblesville, IN 46060) for skating with the whole family. This rink has skate aids for even the littlest skaters so everyone can join in on the fun. There is also a park in the same plaza as the rink, so if there are multiple kids that want to do different things, everything is within view.

It’s $13 for skaters 13 and up, and $11 for 12 and younger. The price includes skate rental and is good for a full day of skating (no time limit on the ice). Skate aids are $3 to rent. No reservation required, just walk up and skate! Click here for hours of operation.

Final Stop: Carmel Christkindlmarkt

End the day by stopping by the Carmel Christkindlmarkt (10 Carter Green - Carmel, IN) for some shopping, authentic German food, and live music. Bring the kids and head over to the Kinderecke Kids Corner for a free craft, activity, and to mail their letter to Santa. Check out the daily schedule before visiting to see what entertainment and activities will be going on that day!
