Local Experience Christmas Gift Guide



Are you looking to add some local experiences to your kids Christmas list? I would highly recommend it! New toys and gadgets are awesome, but adding some experience gifts opens up opportunities to continue making special memories as a family after the Dec. 25th has passed. Below are some local experiences that would make great gift ideas for your child!

 

Local Extracurriculars: A great gift idea for parents or grandparents is to let kids try out a new skill or activity to see how they like it! Below are some local favorites that make great gift ideas:

  • 10 week class at The Music Playhouse: Kids ages infant to 12 years old can learn more about rhythm, musical instruments, and using using music and movement in their everyday lives. These classes are very interactive, hands-on, and make great gifts!

  • Gymnastics, Ninja, or Dance Class: Letting kids build strength and learn their limits through a gymnastics or dance like class is a great gift idea! Some local favorites for these activities include The Little Gym Carmel, Wrights Gymnastics and Ninja Zone, and Interactive Academy.

  • Sports Leagues: Short-term sports leagues can make great gifts and allow littles to try out different sports while learning how to play with others and follow direction. Some of our favorites for even the littlest athletes include Lil Kickers Carmel, Lil Dribblers Carmel, and Goldfish Swim School Carmel.


Sprouts Cooking School Class: Sprouts is the only kids designated cooking school in the state and offers classes for kids 3-13 years old. They have drop off style classes or classes where the whole family can come and learn new cooking skills. Kids do 100% of the cooking and get to taste their creations at the end of class! Membership to local attractions: Indy is lucky enough to be home to some amazing kid-centered attractions. You will likely find a membership to the Indianapolis Zoo, the Children's Museum, and/or Conner Prairie on our family Christmas list every year.


Trampoline Park Passes or Membership: The north Indy area has multiple indoor trampoline parks that offer gift cards for jump passes or even monthly memberships. Our personal favorite is Sky Zone Indy North. It opens at 9am on weekdays, is the closest to Carmel, and has the best park visibility to watch multiple kids at one time.


Gift Card to Flix Brewhouse: Go catch a movie and grab dinner at the same time at our local cinema, Flix Brewhouse. They often do themed family nights where they will show an “out of theaters” movie (like the Harry Potter series) and pair it with movie-themed food options for a fun night out as a family. A giftcard to use here is a great gift and goes a long way!


Tickets to Upcoming Shows: Indy hosts great kids shows every year and asking for tickets for your family or getting them for your kids would be a great Christmas gift! Below are some of the top kids shows coming to town in 2023.
